In 2018, I went through a huge life change. I had been a rower, with my sights set on qualifying for the Olympics, but a combination of a back injury and deteriorating mental health left me without the sport that had been my everything and facing a future I knew nothing about.<\/p>
I wanted a challenge, something to push me and my body out of my comfort zone and prove that I could do hard things. So, naturally, I chose an Ironman.<\/p>
Fast forward 12 months and I was standing on the start line at Ironman Copenhagen. I had no idea what was to come. It was both the hardest and best day of my life.<\/p>
I can't tell you how many times during the marathon I swore to myself I would never do another one... but coming across the finish line, feeling the magic of the red carpet, I knew I'd be back.<\/p>

The years that followed saw a global pandemic, 3 house moves, 3 job changes, 2 trips to Hawai'i for the Ironman World Championships and 1 70.3 Age Group World Title. Turning Professional for the 2024 season was thrilling, terrifying, and has pushed me further than I believed. Every day I challenge myself to be better. To be brave. To do things differently. But also to keep the childish joy I felt on 18th August 2019. Triathlon has become my armour - I know I am capable of working to achieve hard things; the achieving of them is no longer important. I have the privilege of being a part of a revolution in women's triathlon, as well as a huge community of athletes that dedicate their lives to achieving what others could only dream of. A movement of people being brave.<\/p>
